He said, there is something special about TEI this year, which is in the 39th TEI the Ministry of Trade together with the Ministry of Religion collaborated in presenting the halal pavilion. This is in line because Indonesia's neighboring country, namely Thailand, has begun to aggressively promote halal trade.
"This year is special, because we are working with the Ministry of Religion to present a halal pavilion, because we received a report from the trade attaché that halal is now being heavily promoted by Thailand," he said. Apart from that, Zulhas said that the opening of this year's TEI was deliberately moved forward, which is usually held at the end of October, now it will be held in mid-early October. The reason is so that he can give a speech directly towards the end of Jokowi's term of office.
"This year's Trade Expo Indonesia is usually held at the end of October, but we have deliberately moved it forward with the agreement of all parties to October 9-12, so that I have the opportunity to give my last welcoming speech in front of Mr. (Jokowi). God willing,". According to him, TEI's significant achievements over the past 10 years are thanks to the hard work of all stakeholders, especially the support of President Jokowi. He assessed that TEI was able to achieve significant progress in its contribution to economic growth towards an advanced Indonesia.
The focus of export trade at TEI this year, continued Zulhas, is to improve the image of Indonesian products to be more innovative and specific through three zones, the first is food, beverage, and agriculture, the second is manufacturing, and the third is living, fashion and services.
